GRIP INDUSTRIES BUILD

The LS400 started life as most, taking the kids to school, getting groceries and Sunday drives. Then one day the it was time for something a little different…

Pete started out by building custom cold air intake and exhaust systems for the JDM 1UZ-FE V8 which was sourced from a Toyota Celsior. Then the car was slammed on a set of Megan coilovers. A set of Work Varianza D3S wheels rounds out this VIP inspired build.

GRIP INDUSTRIES BUILD

This project started out with Rob finding a virgin Toyota Cressida. The stock 7M motor was promptly plucked out and replaced with the timeless 1JZ. A custom 3″ exhaust system, 5-speed conversion, LSD, 4.30 gear, and a set of Megan coil-overs rounds out this cherry Cressida.

FEATURED CAR

Curtis MK3 Supra recently received a new engine transplant. Grip was able to mate the MK3 chassis with a 2JZ-GTE VVTi engine set to create the ultimate combination of old technology and new technology. We converted the entire car to run off the 2JZ electronics, including the fly-by-wire system, proving once again that Grip is up for even the hardest swaps.

GRIP INDUSTRIES BUILD

Awesome story awesome car, this car was bought and swapped in 2006 by Grip only to have the original owner buy her back.  After a few years of the stock twins the owner brought her back to Grip for a single turbo and supporting upgrades.  To top it off the owner is an older gentleman AKA grandpa that matches the sleeper look of this car.
